Aged in bourbon barrels with an incredibly dark and viscous body. Aroma of espressso with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, raisin, plum, and molasses. A creamy mouthfeel with a roasty finish.

Rated 12-13-2019. I like Barrel Mountain, and they don't brew a lot of different beers, but what they do they do it right. This beer is no exception. It is a very good Imperial Stout. The flavors and aromas are very good also. 70 IBUs

Pours a black color, opaque with a thin brown head. Smells of dark fruit dates prunes and raisins. Taste is a chocolate flavor with some bourbon notes and a little alcohol heat on the finish. Small amounts only.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, cocoa and dark dried fruit. Flavor is dark toasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, dried plums, dates and a touch of coffee. Bourbon and mild coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A robust, well made imperial stout with great barrel character. The base malt has fine chocolate and light coffee character and the barrel influence is bright and authentic bourbon. Not overly complex, but well balanced and flavorful. Glad to see Barrel Mountain, whose beers I have enjoyed, making a stout appropriate to their name. I look forward to anything new from these guys. I used to travel through south west Washington and stop by every year, but sadly their beers have to come to me now, glad this one did.
