Heard good things about this beer and grabbed a pint after checking out Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen for the first time. It was also the cheapest price for their craft beer. Count me in despite me not really wanting a beer.
Poured a dark golden, honey, pale, clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy, white head when I got it. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom. Good amount of foamy wet lacing. Above average retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled apple, green grape, cloves, Belgian peppery spices, grassy notes, hints of herbal hops, honey and light banana. More Saison than Hefeweizen to me. (Sight - 3.75)
Tasted more balanced than the nose, but still more Saison than Hefe. Got apple, green grape, banana, Belgian cloves, grassy hops, honey, orange peel and hints of coriander. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Thin texture. Lively carbonation. Smooth, fruity finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really enjoyed this one for a nice, sessionable beer. Still more Saison than Hefe to me though. Would have it again. (Overall - 3.75)
