I had this beer on-tap in a tulip glass at the brewery in Kent.

Appearance: super dark brown, nearly black, with a thin layer of light tan foam atop.

Smell: lightly sweet and astringent aroma, with a dash of roastiness. Not bad or anything, but not particularly rich or complex.

Taste: sweetness and dryness are balanced, with a little caramel character and some roastiness. More of a porter than a stout, I’d say, and like the aroma decent enough but not outstanding.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a lowish carbonation but a decent creaminess.

Overall: not the worst stout I’ve had; it doesn’t have lots of flaws but it’s not super interesting.
