Poured from crowler obtained today at the brewery into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: dark brown hue with some haze to the body so that minimal light shines through. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam -- looks good!
Smell: light and yeasty, with a little bit of roast and a hint of vegetal hop character. A standard, but welcoming, porter aroma.
Taste: like the aroma, it's rather yeasty, with a bit of roast and a nice bitterness. It's not the most complex porter out there, but it is solid.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and actually a really nice creaminess.
Overall: a solid porter, if not an exceptional one.
