Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a good lasting finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. Some stringy lace. The aroma had a nice perceptive blend of wheat malt. Slight toast. Some grassiness. Slight earthiness. Crisp nuttiness. Subtle roast. Sly leafiness. And then a touch of leather. The flavor dryly blended all of the previously mentioned flavors just a touch more than adequately. That crisp leafiness really seems to blend a bit more with some earthy/semi-spicy flavor. Quick semi-wheaty malty aftertaste rolling into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt spot on. Overall, I can’t wait til this shows up next Autumn! Vermont needs more brown ales and great ones on top of it. This one will turn some heads in the direction of this style.
