At The Bench, Stowe, VT, they poured it into a snifter. The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Dissipates immediately. The aroma definitely had the rye up front, spicy yet sweet and then some roasted sweet potatoes underscored with a light pumpkin fleshiness to it. Subtle caramel malt base. The flavor blends all of the previously mentioned aromas bleeding together and grabbing the aftertaste to send it into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation slides in subtly. Malt notes help to smooth out. Overall, nice strong ale with rye and sweet potatoes. I’d have again.
