How do you design a dark beer to be light yet still interesting? We think we achieved it with this beer. We brewed this brown porter with a plethora of specialty malt but achieved a lighter body and flavor than most porters. Late additions of Molasses and Smoked Sea Salt added some complex flavors and an elevated fermentation temperature provided some fruit forward notes that we think work well together.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger's worth of off white foamy head that slid off at a sly pace. Not much lace, somewhat fading softly into oblivion.
The aroma had some milk chocolate, with salt, sly smoke, then roast with some molasses and then peach sweetness with a whiff of the tart skin of it. Just a hint of a grassy to earthy sort of edge rolling all about underneath.
The flavor was moderately sweet with some salt, earthiness, peach sweetness and then molasses. Aftertaste leaned into the molasses, salt and peach sweetness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it, oddly enough, with everything going on in the flavors, there wasn't much distractibility of being overly complex (sometimes that tends to happen with these sorts of beers). Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as projected. Finish was semi-salty with some of that molasses and peach.
Overall, I can tell it's well brewed, it's just an odd beer. One to have again, just one of those beers I'd have to have by itself and ensure an exceptionally clean palate is warranted to enjoy this one fully.
