Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly spider web lace. The aroma, for a milk stout, seems to balance a bit more roast than expected, which I like yet still lets in an ample amount of sweet milk chocolate. Traces of dark chocolate show a light bitterness. The flavor blends the roast to the sweet, more so than any practically any other sweet stout I ever had. The aftertaste seems to be well versed between the roast and the sweet and seems to be in the finish as well. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt spot on. Overall, second milk stout from a Vermont brewer that seems to scale back on the sweetness of the lactose in it. Would love to have again.
