A few weeks ago we started, as we describe, "an extremely casual running club." Every Wednesday a group of beer and running enthusiasts meet at our taproom and take off for a tiring 1-3 mile run around Northfield. When they come back from the run we reward them with $3 pints of our core beer. We all know that a beer is the best way to rehydrate after a run but so is Gatorade, so we thought, why not combine both. This beer was brewed with a large amount of oats and wheat to lend a soft mouthfeel. We added 20 lbs of lemons and 20 lbs of limes as well as a touch of sea salt and then hopped with a mix of Azzaca and El Dorado hops to help emphasis the citrus character. It's soft, refreshing and crushable. Come run with us!
Malts: 2-Row, Pilsner, Flaked Oats, Wheat Malt, Acidulated Malt, Dextrose
Hops: El Dorado, Azzaca

The appearance was a murky yellow color with a transparency that somewhat tried to shine through, it wasn't entirely there, but I could almost see through the beer. Just a sheet of white foamy head that slid off at a low pace. Light lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some sweet citrus, sweet oats and wheat and some light grassy hop character emphasizing a little bit of a sharp lime-like zest at the end.
The flavor took all of those previously mentioned aromas and wrapped them together to allow a touch of salinity ever so slightly in and around the entire taste. Not much of an aftertaste, seemed somewhat wheaty yet citrusy.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, somewhat low, but nice. ABV felt as projected by the brewer. Nice mobile transition from tongue to finish left me pleased.
Overall, though I'm not much of a runner, more of runner to the beer fridge-I have to admit, I know what Good Measure was going for with this beer and I would welcome this again in my life.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
