Summer in Vermont can mean a variety of different things to different people, but one thing is universal and that is that it's Creemee season! With that in mind we brewed a pretty unique beer to celebrate the season. We took our standard blonde ale grain base and amped up the wheat and oats to give a more round a full mouthfeel and then hit it with a large addition of Lactose sugar for a smooth creamy texture. At the end of the boil we added three different types of chocolate and then fermented it out clean at a lower temperature to tone down the ester production. Post fermentation we rested the beer on over 1 lb/bbl of Cocoa Nibs to provide even more chocolaty goodness. It looks light, smells like a candy bar, and finishes smooth and creamy. It's the beer version of a Creemee!

Growlette share.
We all poured into becher pint glasses.
The appearance was a malty semi-hazy paper orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some lace ran here and there.
The aroma definitely had the smooth milk chocolate up front - full and sweet. Light lactose/vanilla-esque sort of silkiness coming in for a sly balance.
The flavor had that smooth sweet lactose and milk chocolate goodness rolling over some vanilla and oat sweetness. Silky smooth vanilla and chocolate-ish aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed a bit under, but that didn't bother me as it created a very smooth and silky feel running along my tongue. ABV felt nice.
Overall, if Good Measure was going for a beer that tasted exactly like a "Vermont Creemee" they pulled this one off very nice.
