500mL can stamped 30/04/19 30/04/20 (10 months old) poured into mug at fridge temp, no actual English words on the can. The beer pours slightly hazy in a rusty brown color with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap. The aroma is rye bread and dark raisin, prune etc. The taste is sweet with a barely tart undertone featuring rye bread and dark fruit, specifically dark raisins. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with less than medium carbonation and an undry finish. At least this one is not sticky sweet. Overall, good. Another authentic kvass from @woodychandler.

A thanks to my comrade, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a hazy, iced tea color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of dark breads. Taste is raisins, breads, a bit on the sweet side. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a Kvass worth trying.

Boy, if I didn't catch enough flak during NBS Week 731, today's New Back to the Beer Future Sunday, Part 3, Mission II, (Week 761) is really gonna bring me down! I have solidly returned to a Sunday of Kvasses & while I CAN't be happier, many are unhappy with me as an Amerikanski. 8=(

From the CAN: [From the Cyrillic Russian]: "You hold in your hands a unique product - a rustic Kvass with a aromatic. This recipe was brought from an ethnographic expedition to a Russian community where it is made in their village and recreated by our technologists using modern equipment. It conveys the love with which the hostesses brewed it after the bread was baked in a Russian oven. The real, almost forgotten taste of Kvass will take you to an indescribable home atmosphere. The Kvass strategy was not disclosed to outsiders, but was transmitted along generation to generation. TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH!"

The Crack! of the vent revealed a brimful CAN whose CANtents seemed eager to join me on this auspicious ocCANsion. I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug, but this one was making no secret of its carbonation! Man, it foamed up beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, light-tan head with excellent retention. Color was Amber to Deep-Amber/Light-Copper (SRM = > 9, < 13) with NE-quality clarity. Why was I reminded of strong tea or weak coffee? Hmm. Nose was raisin-y with a breadiness that made me think of B & M Brown Bread with Raisins which likewise comes in a CAN! Never had it? It is a dense treat best served with a schmear of PHL cream cheese. Mouthfeel was dense, really big for its style. The taste was slightly sweet, slightly tart with a breadiness underlain by the raisin-y sweetness. Finish was semi-sweet, probably the most palatable of the day, making it the least CANforming to the style. 8=( YMMV.
