Not as hazy as I was expecting but nevertheless a very good example of a style that usually isn’t my thing. Hoppy, bitter, looks good in the glass.

Got this one at the LCBO this past summer
From a 473ml can into a snifter
IBU: 71
SRM: 4
Hops: Amarillo, Citra, El Dorado, Galaxy and Mosaic
APPEARANCE: Pours a small, medium looking, creamy, fluffy white head with good retention. Hazy safety orange with no real carbonation evident. Head recedes to a full cap and clings to the sides of the glass. Half wisp remains leaving decent lacing on the glass.
SMELL: Decent strength nose of caramel, toffee, butterscotch, pineapple and grapefruit on the nose. Some spicy aromas as well.
TASTE: Caramel and toffee with some honeydew sweetness up front. Cantaloupe and spicy flavors with some grapefruit bitterness at the swallow. A bold finish of caramel, toffee, honeydew sweetness, as well as some pineapple flavors and piney bitterness. Some spicy flavors linger as well.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher levels of carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, a bit foamy perhaps, goes down fine and finishes a bit drier. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Okay, but again, not a NEIPA. It’s got some nice flavor and plenty going on, but doesn’t tick the boxes to call it a New England style IPA. Just call it a standard IPA and the experience would be different for the drinker. At least it would be for this drinker.

"This hazy, juicy, New England-style IPA ..." That's on the can & reflects my favourite styles of beer. But after enjoying some of the best from Treehouse, Foundation, The Alchemist, and yes, Collective Arts ...this one just does not cut it. First, it's not hazy. Yes there are some flakes in this light amber IPA but not haze. Next, it's not juicy. Both the aroma and taste are slightly funky malt forward - the hops do not shine. It tastes like a juicy IPA which has sit around in the can for a year. It's no crappy macrobrew, but I'd take a Life in the Clouds at a cheaper price over this any day.

Crystal clear under a firm white head. Maybe unusually clear for an IPA. Spotty lace and a partial film. Crisp hops and a little apple in the nose and to taste. Sharp edged from carbonation, lingering bitterness. Not as full on the mouth as others in the style, less sweetness. Drinkable.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 27 2019 and served slightly chilled. A more affordable format is exactly what this brewery needed.
Pours a foggy, orange-amber colour, topped with one finger of frothy, bubbly, off-white tinted head. It lasts for the better part of three minutes, leaving a lovely coat of lace behind as it recedes down to a creamy collar and a few filmy patches upon the surface. A few flakes of sediment hover throughout the liquid, which completes the look. Notes of pink grapefruit, bubble gum, lemon-lime citrus, pear and stone fruit come through on the nose - very appealing, but it's just not assertive enough.
I can't complain too much, however, because it's pretty tasty stuff. Very hop-forward, and moderately juicy - I'm getting flavours of peach, passion fruit, cantaloupe and grapefruit, smothered over top of a grainy pale malt backbone. A pithy, slightly resiny bitterness begins to develop towards the tail end of the sip, with a similar aftertaste of citrus, melon and stone fruit that lingers. Medium-full in body, with moderate carbonation levels that prickle the palate gently. I found this extremely easy to drink for its abv.
Final Grade: 3.99, a B+. The Exchange's 7² is a little too forthright with its bitterness for this style, but it's very much worth a shot nonetheless, and I can't rightfully say that I didn't enjoy my glass... right down to the last gulp. At four-plus bucks a can, its price point may be a minor hurdle... but the truth is that this brew is at least as good as some of the other, similarly priced D/IPAs you can find at the LCBO these days. We'll see how it holds up over time, but if I can find fresh stock reliably then I'll be picking this up once in a while.

Canned February 27, 2019. Served cold into a pint glass. Pricey at $4.25 CDN for a 473 ml can.
Appearance - hazy, dark golden coloured brew with some loose sediment, a finger of long last creamy white head sits on top, some curtain style lacing is featured at the edges of the glass.
Smell - tropical notes initially, but rather subdued. Lime and melon are most prominent with a sweet finish.
Taste - somewhat juicy and tropical with melon, plenty of grapefruit pith too, a little more bitter than most in the style, doesn't have the sweetness and juicypiness synonymous with the style.
Mouthfeel - medium bodied, carbonation fairly light and refreshing with a very dry finish.
Overall - certainly nit a bad beer, but given the plethora of high quality New England style ipa's being produced locally, 72 just falls a little short. Worth a try still, but personally I prefer others.

Loved the nose with rich grapefruit, pineapple love. Taste however was underwhelemed. A basic IPA here only available in 4 packs btw at brewery. Listen, drinkable, highly....outstanding? No. But....enjoy it...geez!

A nice pour with a head that lingers. The nose however is rather nondescript. The taste gives us a nice, harmless IPA (but not really a New England style) that is neither outstanding, nor obtrusive. A hoppy-malty gentleness without much, if any, fruit (even though they claim to have included 3). Only a slight bitterness in the aftertaste (though they claim 5 different hops).
You could do a lot worse. If they had this in the too numerous, average bars, I would gladly choose it as a fallback option.
