We're too lazy to wake up in time for breakfast stout, so we moved on to a brunch stout. Overflowing with coffee, chocolate, and fruit notes, this brew is a side of bacon away from starting your day off right...at the crack of noon.

one of my favorite beers here for sure, this is some of their best work so far. a nice rich dense coffee stout, heavy on the coffee, and certainly packing a caffeine hit to it as well. the beer is nearly jet black, holding an inch of head on it and brimming with fresh coffee aromas. i get espresso beans, fresh ground but not yet brewed in the nose, bitter with some dried berry qualities and a little molasses. the dark roasted barley helps being the bitterness to a rather high level, and its a nice match with the intense but somewhat lighter roasted coffee, best of both worlds on display here. the flavor is great, coffee leading the way, lots of bitterness. this could use a shot of honey or maple syrup for more brunch impact and more balance, but i love a good bitter coffee beer, and this is that for sure. i thought the body was a little thin for the dark flavors, maybe some oats (or some more oats) would provide some of that and fit with the breakfast theme. great coffee though, pungent and nuanced, and lots of roasted almost charred dark barley in the finish. with a little more body to it this would be top tier.
