1st review of this beer on BA bc I'm not some sociopath who just adds a beer but doesn't review it.
Pours dark brown/black into a 1969 jersey Marquette pint glass. 1/3" lighter brown head, kinda loose bubbled. Aroma of you know, coffee in a coffee beer. Nothing particularly stands out coffee wise, its moderate strength and quantity.
Taste is something I can appreciate moreso. Rather than junking up a huge beer, they took a pretty sessionable porter base and dumped coffee all over it. Elegant simplicity. The mouth feel is nice and light juxtaposed with its slightly sinister appearance. The roasted malt portion is present, but not oppressive, doing a good tandem thing with the coffee. Roast meets roast, yet it retains a degree of smoothness that is impressive remaining easy to drink the entire pint.
I've dug every single thing from this brewery. Just wish they weren't on that side of the bay, but as long as Berkeley Bowl keeps getting their stuff, I'll keep buying it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
