Brewery Techne "IZZI"
on tap at the brewery/Bar Hygge on 27 February 2016
$4 / 10 oz and $6 / 13 oz
Notes: Hazy reddish brown. Creamy yellowed head. Decent retention and spotty and splashy lacing. Aroma: spicy, earthy/muddy, burnt sugar maltiness backed by stone fruit. Flavor: follows with a hint of funkiness. Solid bitter center. Dry, short lingering finish. Really unique. Charming. More than just "drinkable", it's enticing, alluring, and hard to let go of.

Labeled as a "saison bruin."
Poured chestnut brown with an off-white head. Earth and nutty malts in the aroma. Taste delivers what is promised essentially. Really it's a mash-up of a brown ale and saison, leaning more stylistically towards a saison, with a good earthy backbone, hints of barnyard funk, nutty malts, mild herbal hops. Drinks easy.
