I got a can of this beer from my good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego. It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had dank apricot and other tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dank slightly bitter tropical fruit and fruit peel presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is an excellent beer.

Super top notch double IPA...among the best I've ever had...
Super fresh at the source...excellent job of showcasing the brilliance of the hops used...it is hazy but there's a huge punch of old school West Coast to this... not bitterness necessarily but lots of tropical juice and assertiveness...
High octane at 8.6%....no booze at all here.. just a real pleasure to be able to sit and sip...

Oh man, this is the best from NG I have had recently, maybe ever. Beautiful hazy orange juice body with a finger of white foam. Huge grapefruit and orange anchor the nose, pineapple, melon rind, peach, and piney and grassy dry hops finish. Taste has all of that from the nose plus lychee, papaya, mango, lime and a touch of dankness. So complex, yet melds well too. Feel is sharp with the hops after waves of soft juiciness and full bodied haze. Delicious

Pours an opaque orange with a golden glow and a dark hued center. Head is a finger of white foam after an 8oz modest pour straight into the glass. Head retention is okay. Aroma is strong and dense tropical fruits, hitting notes of papaya, tangerine, guava, grapefruit, apricot and orange. Tropical fruits are so dense it almost oozes out a little extra sugary sweetness. Flavor profile is more of the same, with a slightly better balance of malts. Tropical fruits are guava, grapefruit, tangerine, papaya and orange. With the initial onset being strong tropical fruits, the middle breaks away ever so slightly to reveal biscuity, bready malts, before being smothering in tropical fruits again. All is going well until a little hop burn singes the rear of the tongue as the sugary sweet tropical fruits fade away. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a lightly gritty, grainy texture. Effervescence is enough to prickle the back of the tongue, but not enough to create a 'crisp' texture, landing it somewhere in the middle. Overall, thick and full and jam packed with more tropical fruits than a New York fruit stand. It's strong and potent, making no amends along the way.

this is such good beer, and i feel majorly thankful to have a friend who wants to share it with me. its special stuff, looks like they throw the king designation on a lot of their beers, is it more hops, is it imperial, what is it, i dont know, but im not real into breaking it down right now, id rather just drink it. its hazy of course, arent they all from these guys? the hop complexion here is almost a guilty pleasure, so juicy and so distinctive, punishingly strong and good, and the fact that the varietals present themselves as the same again, yet get together to yield such a remarkably original beer is a lot of fun, a lot claim that, few produce it. mango and peach, lemon and lemongrass, white wine and like apple lotion from a long lost preteen romance, there is sex in this, for what its worth, and it drips in the drink. should all ipa leak sex into your mouth? yup! slow trickle away, drip drip drip, its mellow and patient, but this seems almost like the full administration of a drug i shouldnt have. daring and dangerous and indulgent. they should all be this good. i cant have a ton of it, lots of body, some over hopped bite, but i need another hit about as frequently as i need another breath, funny how ipa can be life... if you drank this beer and didnt know it came from an italian restaurant in north saint louis, you could think it came from some heady fawned after operation out of new york or portland or whatever. these guys are on it!

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/26/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is an awesome NEDIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft feel, and not overly aggressive. Awesome Citra, Galaxy, El Dorado, and Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.
