The recipe for this Kellerbier consists of pilsner malt, flaked rice and melanoidin, which gives it a nice crisp profile with some malt complexity. For the hops I selected Wai-iti, which is a New Zealand hop with flavor and aromas of citrus (lime/mandarin) and stone fruit (peach/apricot), and Callista, which is a German hop with flavor and aromas of tropical fruit (passionfruit), stone fruit (peach) and citrus (grapefruit).

poured from a 16oz can into a narrow gauge willi becher pint glass. pours a cloudy gold with almost three fingers of fluffy white head. lager yeast and bready malts on the nose with the hops only really finding their way through towards the end of the pour as it warmed a little. they do provide some lovely citrus zest aromas though. taste allows for them to shine a little more and work in better harmony with the beer. it’s simple but quite refreshing. dry drinkable. lively carbonated mouthfeel. i dig this one.
