poured from a 16oz can into a new glarus dimpled mug. extremely dark amber with three fingers of fluffy off-white foam. dark bread, dry oak, a touch of caramel and some lighter biscuit/cracker notes. there’s also a light nuttiness to it as it warms. it has a thick, almost syrupy mouthfeel up front with a gentle carbonation on the finish. if not for the carb, this one might drink closer to a doppelbock. i remember enjoying the regular version of this last year or the year before and this is no different.
