The Destroyer of Men, The Demon of Lust. Full-bodied with hints of chocolate and coffee. Pours like motor oil, tastes like awesome. This version of Asmodeus was barrel aged for 6 months in Heaven Hills, Wild Turkey & Buffalo Trace barrels and then blended together.

2017 bottle poured into a pint glass and allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Barely a whispy cocoa colored haze floats on the opaque ebony body and the glass remains clean.
Cocoa aroma includes dried, dark, stone fruit: prune and raisin, with a faint whiff of subtle booze and the flavors match. Bourbon oak, leather, vanilla, and molasses come through on the finish.
Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and could use some carbonation. Booze warmth is present, not assertive, just present.
Overall this was better fresh, but a good experiment.

Oh gosh what a travesty this "beer" is. Not carbonated at all, smells mostly like farts (honestly!) and tastes just as bad. Big waste of money. Metal Monkey should invest in some QA because whatever this is is a trainwreck.

2017 version Pours thick black like motor oil with no head, no ring, no lacing.
Smells like bourbon, dark malt, and dark chocolate.
The taste is bourbon, malt, some bitter chocolate, and a bit of raisin. It's very bitter on the end.
The mouthfeel is very smooth and thick but almost no carbonation. The lack of carbonation seriously detracts from the beer.
This is a unique beer with really nice flavors, but the lack of carbonation makes it difficult to really enjoy.

I had the base beer of this the only time I was at the brewery, and I remember it being the highlight of the night, as it was easily the smoothest 12% ABV stout I had ever had. The barrel aged version is maybe the same in terms of just being a super smooth beer. Not much to look at – almost no carbonation, no head, and no lacing, so appearance is definitely its weakest link . Smell is boozy barrel and roasty malt. Taste is outstanding. Tangy burn of the barrel blends well with a medium malt presence, with notes of vanilla, oak, and booze. The feel is very good, bordering on great. Other than appearance, this is where it could use improvement. While it is super smooth and an extremely easy sipper, it has a slight thin oiliness. If it was a bit thicker, thiscould be absolutely amazing. As it is, it is only outstanding. I think it is grossly under rated on this thread, but I can see how some might think it's too weak. I personally would recommend it, and I was super happy as well as surprised to see it at my favorite beer store.

Had a similar experiece to a reviewer below. Poured it hard and there was no head, tasted flat. An overall good flavor profile, a touch of booziness but didn't seem like too much. Not worth the price I paid. I will age the other bottle I have for about a year and see if it improves. If so, I'll edit my review.

I'm pretty sure I had a bad bottle, poured it like a madman and there was absolutely zero head and it tastes kind of flat.

Had on tap. Shimmering charcoal black, minimal brown head. Boozy whiskey nose with nuts, earth, leather, roasted malt, cola and dark chocolate. Taste is not as robust, focusing on the cola, chocolate and booze, with light roasted malt, oak is even more minimal. Feel is chewy and dark, but not thick, smooth save the strong booze but not hot. The wife liked it.
Aging Note: Did not get better with a few years of age
