The dark beer is not quite as good as the pale. It comes out more amber than brown, with a healthy tan head that sticks around a good long time. The lace rings are uniform remarkably far down the glass. The smell is roasted nuts and malt. The taste is a bit on the sweet side, but also a bit too thin. There's a decent amount of hops in the initial impression, but they don't follow through or provide much of an aftertaste. This is a good beer, but it could be much better.
