12oz bottle from brewery. Black pour, thick, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, anise, chilis. Taste adds a bit of vanilla to the mix, blending nicely with the chocolate and a small spicy finish.

Pours black with tan head that dissipate quite quickly. It is mostly oat forward in terms of the malt character. Some back end heat from the habaneros is there. Not getting much in terms of the cinnamon or cacao nibs. It's kinda dry to be honest. This doesn't really deliver for me.

From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 05/14/21. Served in a tulip.
Pours a motor oil-like chestnut-black with minimal head formation, pretty much just a scant fizzy collar. Not much to look at here.
Aroma is mildly sweet, cola-like and milk chocolatey with faint notes of cinnamon toast.
Taste follows along with the nose, with the cola and chocolate character predominant, ala Hershey’s syrup, or maybe Yoohoo. The cinnamon toast flavour is also evident. The chilis provide a subtle smoky-heat base note but are otherwise hardly noticeable.
Feel is creamy-smooth and hefty bodied. Carbonation level is fairly vigorous which keeps the beer from feeling outright syrupy and contributes mightily toward its drinkability. There’s a comfortable pleasant warmth in the gullet, whether from the chilis or from the 10.8% abv I am not sure.
Overall, an enjoyable big-boy beverage. Considering the list of ingredients, it’s not a super-complex beer but at 10.8% abv it sure as hell gets the job done. I remember being more wowed by this a couple of winters ago when it was first released but that could just be me being a douchey asshole.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a dark cola brown color with a minimal tan head that is gone almost instantly. No lacing to speak of. Not an uncommon appearance for the style but still disappointing. Looks like Pepsi. Or Coke. Or the cheap Walmart brand cola.
The aroma brings strong notes of black licorice and vanilla, with some mild bakers chocolate. There's the absolute foggiest idea of spicy chilly peppers topped off with a dash of cinnamon. Honestly smells a bit like coke and rum, not beer.
The flavor is a bit better, bringing notes of milk chocolate, black licorice, vanilla, and cinnamon. This beer really needs to warm up if you want to taste the chilis and habanero peppers. Those flavors are subtle regardless, but they do leave a lasting kick that clings to the palate after each sip.
The feel is full bodied. Sticky, chewy, and rather boozy.
Overall, a very underwhelming and disappointing imperial stout. It looks just like a glass of soda, which would be fine if it didn't smell like root beer as well. The chilis and habanero peppers are used well, but the other flavors are just so bland and sweet to make this one worth trying.
