Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours hazy red orange with a small white head. Smells of sour fruit, especially tropical. Tastes of tropical fruit and passion fruit, nice combination. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

16 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Canned on 1/4/21.
L---It looked clear light pink pouring it in sunshine. In the glass, it is reddish Amber colored with a thin white head that faded quickly to a ring and left ok lacing. There are floaters (fruit/yeast?), not that there's anything wrong with that.
S---Sweet. Lots & lots of raspberries and strawberries.
T---Follows the nose sweet, with lots of strawberry & slightly more raspberry. A tinge, but not a lot, of tartness.
F---Light/medium feel. Bright carbonation. Refreshing/quenching feel.
O---A really nice fruit beer. It hits on what it is shooting for.

CANNED ON 01/04/2021 BATCH 23 on bottom of can. Poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Watermelon hue with 2-finger off-white frothy head with good retention and a smattering of lace dots and formations.
S: Raspberries are a bit stronger than the strawberries, but it’s a close race. There is also plenty of grain character, it seems like a combo of wheat and pils malt. A little bit of the sweat sock lactic acid bacteria sour aroma sneaks in there.
T: The flavor is enjoyable but medium in fruity intensity, probably a 6 out of 10 — I found myself wishing for a bit more fruitiness. As it stands, the fruit character is delicious with raspberries and strawberries battling it out again and raspberries winning again but in overtime. I really like the grain character of this beer — it is present throughout the beer but there is a malty blast in the back end that I really liked. The lactic bacterial character is there but pretty low.
M: Creamy and low medium body with even carbonation.
O: I enjoyed this fruit-sour ale with a good berry character and soft creamy feel. A bit stronger fruit aroma and flavor and I’m all in with this beer.

16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Nice color if a bit pale. Nose is seedy raspberry and strawberry. Juicy with a mouth-watering tartness. Beer opens tart raspberry, strawberry and watermelon. Its immediately apparent that this is a touch watered down. Foamy in the middle with hints of straw and lemon zest. End is more of the same with a zesty finish. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down aggressive. Sparkling. Slightly lingering aftertaste.
Not bad by any means and the flavor is spot on in terms of the description. I could see this being a nice Summer beach beer.

Picked this up a few weeks ago at Gary's in Wayne as I hadn't had anything from Mast Landing in quite some time, and I never was able to get a label of theirs for my collection. It was a pleasant surprise to find this categorized as a Fruit and Field Beer because the style's not common and I don't drink sours that often. Sure enough, this was chock full of fruit and felt like it came from a rustic field as it was nicely balanced from the lactose.
This poured like a dark fruit smoothie, minus the thickness, as it was a dark blueberry color with a few dark bits of sediment slowly settling in it and a lighter, raspberry head topping it off. That didn't take long to settle as I was hoping for a nice head to complement that, but there wasn't *any* to be seen once that disappeared. Lots of strawberry patch, juicy blackberry, blueberry juice, and an underlying lactose sweetness in the nose as the taste followed suit. A cross between something from Hudson Valley and Tired Hands, this was natural, juicy, and rustic all at once but not tart as the sweetness was just present enough to take that edge off. A hint of acetate lingered throughout as it complemented the flavors nicely and kept this true to form throughout.
Was there alcohol in this? I"m sure there was somewhere but I couldn't find it as this went right down with minimal heft and buzz. Sure, this was relatively new as it was canned on 6/22 with "BATCH 15" written below it, but it still had a few dark bits of sediment at the bottom when I got to the last sip. This held up well but the style dictated that this would be a bit rough and rustic around the edges as I loved the balance between the fruit, lactose, sour, and outdoorsy aspects of this beer. Great for summer, this would be something I'd reach for on a sunny afternoon when a typical lawnmower beer just wouldn't do!

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours an opaque pinkish red color with a finger of light pink head. The head leaves some splotches of lace as it settles into a thin ring.
The aroma is basically a berry fruit smoothie: Lots of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and vanilla yogurt.
The flavor is sweet and fruity upfront, like me, then comes the tart notes of strawberries and blackberries with some raspberry yogurt on the finish. Has a nice cracker malt backbone (am I allowed to say "cracker")?
The feel is medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty creamy and smooth and exceptionally dry.
Overall, this is a pretty good fruited "sour ale". The lactose adds a bit of sweet creaminess to it giving it that "smoothie" like flavor. Definitely a solid beer for a hot summer day when you've got swamp ass.

A: The beer is hazy pinkish purple in color. It poured with a half finger high light pink head that settled down, leaving a collar consisting of off white bubbles around the edge fo the glass and a large patch of bubbles covering most of the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of strawberries and raspberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a touch of sweetness from the lactose sugar.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be very easy to drink and thought that it had a good balance between the raspberries and strawberries, particularly since you would normally expect the raspberries to dominate such a beer. The sweetness from the lactose sugar also masked out the tartness from the raspberries.

Review #1423
The first beer I am trying from Mast Landing. Summer is coming I want simple, fresh, and crisp beers for the night. Sour beer is becoming a favorite style of mine. A sour beer with intensity, complexity, and tart is beautiful. The beer is 38 degrees and served in a pint glass. Pouring the beer into the glass, I smell ripe fruit. The beer's head development is two-fingers deep. The pinkish foam is creamy. No lacing was left on the glass as it slowly dissipated. The color of the beer is similar to pink lemonade, except without the bits of lemons. This beer is cloudy.
The beginning aromas from the beer is tart raspberries, strawberry, wheat, and lemons. Nosing further, I smell a hint of floral, lightly toasted malts, and vinegar.
The flavors in the beer are tart raspberries, strawberries, lightly toasted malts, lemons, acidic (akin to vinegar), wheat, a hint of honey, and grassy.
The mouthfeel of the beer is tart and carbonated.
The body of the beer is light, medium-plus carbonation, and medium finish.
Simple beer with complexity, just how all sours should be. The berries are at the forefront of this sour. The sourness of the beer is not overly tart. I could drink this beer all summer. Fantastic beer, I think I am going to look for other beers from this brewery.
