Black. One finger of beige foam, not bad.
Smell of dark malts, toasted notes, a light hint of smoke. Light cocoa and coffee.
Same for the taste.
A bit too thin body.
Light hazelnut in the aftertaste, dark malt, grassy notes.
Nothing exceptional, a bit watery, but in the end, not too bad.

Yet another brew from Pivnica Star Grad Old Town Brewery (Temov). This one was bought in a bottle from a Vero supermarket in Skopje, Macedonia. I added this brew to the database unsure of its specific Porter designation. I went with English Porter.
Blackout Porter pours a dark brown, nearly black color with a moderate finger length tan head. It dissipates and leaves a ring collar and soft cappuccino like film.
A subdued and pleasant aroma of lightly roast malts, coffee and chocolate greet the nose. Very inviting.
While drinking this I'm impressed by its light bodied, softly carbonated and smooth mouthfeel relative to a Porter. Indeed it can even be argued that this one is sessionable, yet, with some depth. Nice soft and slightly creamy malt feel. The pale malts are felt more than the dark malts, however, there is a mild coffee and chocolate presence. The finish is relatively clean albeit with the softest twang of citrus. There is a mild sweetness towards the end.
A simple, quiet and very easy to drink Porter. One of my favorites from this brewery so far.
