Scenic Route is a Belgian-style Wit brewed with orange peel, coriander and substantial amounts of raw and malted wheat. Pours pale and hazy with refreshing notes of citrus and a touch of zesty spice.

Carried to the curb from Beermiscuous, my source of Chicagoland micros.
Scenic Route is a very good wit. So good that I tested it side-by-side with Tokyo by St. Bernardus, certainly in the Top 5 of wit brewers. Even against that high bar set by St. Bernardus, Scenic Route impresses.
While there is a slight temperature difference between these two wits, Scenic Route's Looks produce as much foam as Tokyo. Smells are slightly different, but Scenic Route probably is fuller, fruitier. Tastes in both are balanced; but I'd say Tokyo is more refreshing (the coldness trade-off.) In the mouth, Scenic is softer... barely.
I liked Hopewell lots when they just opened their taproom almost four years ago. Then a forgot about them for several years. But, I never forgot that their Family saison was unusually good for a young brewer trying to make their money in the IPA market. Well today, Scenic Route confirms that Hopewell has a touch for Belgian yeasts that is unusually good at a young age. I intend to have Family again and Scenic Route again and I will not shy from any of their Belgians. Hopewell is learning them fast.
