Collaboration with Beer Zombies Brewing.
Brewed in collaboration with Beer Zombies Brewing. This Hazy Double IPA was Double Dry Hopped with Simcoe and Nelson. Big upfront aromas of mango, pineapple, and orange zest. Flavors of peach, slight pine, and a hoppy bitterness finish off this full bodied hazy.

L-Three fingered head, deeply straw colored dusty body. Almost woody. Carbonation isn't super visible, but it is there.
S-Candied fruit: pineapple, papaya, mango, and orange. Phenolic yeastiness, nice funkiness as well. Sugary maltiness. Some butteriness there as well. That orange is more prevalent as the beer warms.
T- Surprisingly malty, sweet, and earthy. Compared to the aroma, the fruitiness kind of takes the back seat here. The pineapple, mango orange and tropical fruits are there, for sure, but they are second fiddle to the maltiness. The bitterness is cranked up a notch.
F-Thicker, medium bodied, lower carbonation.
O-A really solid and potent NE IPA that's different enough to be memorable. I like that this beer is chock full of Idaho 7 hops, and is named because of it. Really enjoyed this one.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 28, 2021
Consumed: Feb. 4, 2021
Misc.: Collaboration with Beer Zombies; No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this and a host of others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Recently had one from Mason Ale Works called Checkerboard Green which was the best hazy beer I had from them, so was hoping this one would follow suit. Untappd description was “Brewed in collaboration with Beer Zombies Brewing. This Hazy Double IPA was Double Dry Hopped with Simcoe and Nelson. Big upfront aromas of mango, pineapple, and orange zest. Flavors of peach, slight pine, and a hoppy bitterness finish off this full bodied hazy.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled peach, nectarine, floral, pineapple, mango, stone fruit, purple grape and orange zest. Definitely more Nelson than Simcoe on the nose. Just as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got peach, nectarine, pineapple, mango, stone fruit, purple grape, floral and orange rind. More Nelson than Simcoe, but neither dominated. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
This was outstanding. Really grew on me each sip. (Overall - 4.00)

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a somewhat murky gold with a nice off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is juicy grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and grape, with an unobtrusive caramel backbone. Mouthfeel is medium, bordering on sticky. Finish is more citrus, with a slight lingering bitterness. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable NEIPA! My first IPA from this brewery, and hopefully not my last.

Poured from can into pint glass. Hazy tangerine color.
Smells citric, but low-key. Not anything jumping out to me
Tastes of bitter citrus fruits-lemon is prominent on the front, with the hop bite on the finish.
Medium bodied and low carbonation.
The can art is awesome!
