Brewed to honor one of our brewers' favorite video creators, that_goon_dc, this West Coast IPA was hopped with Cascade, Idaho 7, and Mosaic. We brewed a beer with big pine and citrus notes, only fitting for Barty Waraxe or as some would say the best lumberjack since Paul Bunyan.

Type: 16-oz. can

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.79
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 16, 2020
Consumed: Dec. 18, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed this and way too much other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Picked it up without even looking at ratings on Untappd and Beer Advocate. No canned on date, but since I was just there about a week prior and didn’t see it (and a bunch of other Mason Ale Works beers) I figured it was fresh. Untappd description called it “Brewed to honor one of our brewers' favorite video creators, that_goon_dc, this West Coast IPA was hopped with Cascade, Idaho 7, and Mosaic. Poured a clear light amber color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the bottom of the glass. Decent spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled big Idaho 7, followed by Cascade and a little Mosaic. Specifically herbal, menthol, tea, lime, lemon, dish soap, red grapefruit, pine, floral and mixed berry. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Still big Idaho 7, followed by Cascade and just a little Mosaic. Got herbal, menthol, tea, lime, lemon, bitter dish soap, pine, black pepper, red grapefruit rind, mixed berry and floral. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.50)
A very good West Coast IPA overall. (Overall - 3.75)
