Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $4.19
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 16, 2020
Consumed: Dec. 20, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed this and way too much other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Picked it up without even looking at ratings on Untappd and Beer Advocate. No canned on date, but since I was just there about a week prior and didn’t see it (and a bunch of other Mason Ale Works beers) I figured it was fresh. Untappd description called it “Hazy double dry-hopped double IPA with Citra, Galaxy, Motueka, & Cashmere. This hazy DIPA has aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, and slight melon.”
Poured a light gold hazy color with three fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Decent spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
For the mentioned hops, pretty sure I got all four in order Citra, Cashmere, Motueka and Galaxy. Specifically passion fruit, grapefruit, peach, lemon, lime, orange citrus, melon and light caramel malt. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted better than the nose. Mainly citrus and sweet fruit notes. Also orange citrus, passion fruit, peach, grapefruit, lemon zest, lime, floral, pine and melon. For hops, Citra and Cashmere jumped out to me with some lesser Motueka and Galaxy. Pretty smooth for 8.3 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This one grew on me each sip. Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)

A - Opaque medium golden tan color with thin, dense lacing hanging out around the perimeter of the glass.
S - Fruity aroma with lime, peach, and some tropical fruit.
T - Well balanced across the sip and follows the nose. Very fruity from start to end and finishes on the sweeter side of balanced. Lychee fruit, mango, lime, peach, and some light herbal. Nice lingering lime and peach resin.
M - Thick and chewy with prickly carbonation and a semi-dry finish.
O - First experience with this brewery and would like to try more of their beers because this one is total legit.
