Collaboration with Superstition Meadery
Lagered Braggot with Apricot and Tangerine. Dry and balanced easy drinking braggot with a subtle fruit character on the back end and not so subtle honey up front.

Glass: AleSmith .25l tulip
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 12, 2021
Consumed: Feb. 12, 2021
Misc.: Collab with Superstition Meadery; No canned on date
Got this and way too many beers on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. This one interested me mainly because Superstition Meadery was involved. Would be my first Braggot review although I thought I had one once on Untappd (not true?). The Mason Ale Works website described it as “Lagered Braggot with Apricot and Tangerine. Dry and balanced easy drinking braggot with a subtle fruit character on the back end and not so subtle honey up front.”
Poured a pale-to-medium yellow semi-clear color with two fingers of off-white head. Could see a few bubble streams creeping up along the sides of the glass. Decent spotty lacing. Below average watery retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled honey, apricot, nectarine, tangerine, mandarin orange, pear, buttered bread, floral, wheat and grain. Just a tad better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted a little better than the nose. Got honey, wheat, Honey Nut Cheerios, apricot, nectarine, tangerine, mandarin orange, pear, floral, grain and buttered white bread. (Taste - 4.00)
Light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Liked this a lot. Grew on me each sip. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
