This is the first of four Pastry Stouts from our Folklore Series inspired by Pacific Northwest folktales. Coyote the Fire Thief has a massive body and was dosed with Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Costa Rican coffee blend from Iverson Coffee. Big vanilla/Hazelnut taste and smooth coffee round out this delicious beer.

Good head production and decent retention, especially considering the sky high ABV.
Very potent and boozy aroma, with notes of vanilla, marshmallow, red grape, chocolate, molasses, and hazelnut.
Thick and nearly chewy on the palate; a bit of boozy sting, but very slight.
Up front it's a big flavored stout, but that's really hiding the brilliance to come. It's incredibly rich on the back half, with strong notes of hazelnut, chocolate, molasses, coffee, vanilla, red wine, honeycomb, and toffee. That back half is where this beer really makes its money; it's not bad up front by any stretch, but the flavors haven't had much of a chance to separate and stand out, mixing into a boozy stouty melange.
Absolutely delectable.

A - Dark brown pour with toffee colored, thin lacing.
S - Dark sweet malt aroma with coffee and a slight vanilla sweetness.
T - Coffee, vanilla, some hazelnut, and even some coconut presence from the mixture.
M - Thick, silky, and coagulates on the palate.
O - Flavor is a little bit syrupy sweet and interferes with the coffee bitterness. If the coffee were allowed to be more dominant in this beer to balance out the sweetness this monster could really shine. (One person's opinion, I know.)
