July 7th from notes. Good NEIPA!!! Poured from 1 16 oz, can into an iced tea glass (on vacation in a State Park cabin), this beer featured a big, foamy white head with very good retention and some lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste included lots of grapefruit and some earthy/herbal notes. Light bitterness. Mouthfeel was crisp, medium bodied and mildly bitter. Went down easy!! Very representative of the NEIPA style.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: April 6, 2021
Consumed: April 15, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this and a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Untappd description was “Double Dry Hopped Hazy Double IPA with Nelson hops.” I like my Nelson so much more in hazy beers, so I was hoping for big things.
Poured a semi-clear light amber color with one finger of fizzy off-white head which dissipated almost right away. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Poor watery lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.00)
Smelled big tangerine and Tang, followed by orange, Nelson, gooseberry, pineapple, peach, papaya, passion fruit, pine needle, key lime and some white grape. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. Followed the nose too. In order got big tangerine, Tang, orange, Nelson, gooseberry, pineapple, peach, apricot, papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit, pine needle, key lime and white grape. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Wow. Really liked this. So damn good. Just an excellent beer. (Overall - 4.25)

$12.94 plus tax/4-pack at a beer store in Colorado:
"Double Dry Hopped Hazy Double IPA with Nelson hops." 7.9% ABV.
AROMA: Dank/cannabis-redolent. Luscious tropical fruit. White wine. Faint citrus. Floral hop aromatics.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Smooth and creamy with an almost fruit-creamsicle like cooling effect on the palate. Wet, refreshing, soft, a bit silky, and medium-bodied with perfect carbonation.
White wine takes a backseat to the dominant fruity and floral flavours, with hints of citrus surfacing alongside tropical fruit and gooseberry.
OVERALL: A drinkable and enjoyable IPA with a nice Nelson-driven hop flavour even if it doesn't quite nail Nelson's most interesting white wine flavours. Certainly worth trying, but Alpine-brewed Alpine Nelson showcases the hop better.
Low B / GOOD
