Grabbed a can of this and a host of others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. The website for Mason Ale Works called for “Golden Stout with Maple Syrup, Iverson Coffee, and Blueberry. This full bodied beer has a chocolatey roast backbone from the coffee followed up by a balancing sweetness from the maple and blueberry.”
Poured a light brown semi-clear color with four fingers of khaki white head. Could see a bunch of bubble streams coming up from the sides of the glass. Outstanding foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled roasted coffee, blueberry, maple syrup, semi-char wood, roasted barley, toasted caramel, brown sugar and light vanilla. Not as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was not quite as good as the nose but still solid. In order got roasted coffee, maple syrup, blueberry, semi-char wood, roasted barley, caramel, toasted brown sugar and light vanilla. Very smooth for 8 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Really liked this overall. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
