Inspired by the classic Coffeenut candy. Loaded with heaps of real vanilla, toasted hazelnut, liquified cacao and Vietnam Lotus coffee from our friends at Mostra Coffee (San Diego, CA). The Coffee brings notes of chocolate, dark fruit and butterscotch to this already rich and decadent brew.

Glass: AleSmith Speedway 400-ml. Rastal Teku glass
Price: $7.49
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 21, 2022
Consumed: Nov. 12, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date
Went to Windmill Farms specifically for Dino Park, a collab between Toppling Goliath and North Park. Unfortunately it wasn’t there so instead I bought 12 singles and a 6-pack of Aurora Hoppyalis. Untappd description was “Inspired by the classic Coffeenut candy. Poured a pitch-black color with one finger of fizzy khaki-tan head. Couldn’t see any bubbles on the sides of the glass and it was a rather serene setting. Good spotty lacing. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled vanilla, hazelnut, Boston Cream Pie, butterscotch, caramel, toffee, espresso, cacao, milk chocolate and buttered popcorn. Also got some dark fruit from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. In order got vanilla, hazelnut, butterscotch, caramel, toffee, Boston Cream Pie, milk chocolate syrup, buttered popcorn, espresso, cacao and toasted marshmallow. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth, sweet finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Good beer overall but was hoping for a bit more. (Overall - 4.00)
