Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $4.99
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 9, 2022
Consumed: Dec. 9, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Nov. 9, 2022
Went to Windmill Farms looking for some North Park haze but struck out. So six cans and a 6-pack of Tierra Madre lager later I left the store with more than I planned. Untappd description was “Hazy Triple IPA featuring Idaho 7 and Citra hops give this beer big upfront notes of melon and passion fruit with a balanced resin-y pine flavor.”
Poured a medium golden-to-light amber hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Idaho 7, herbal, tea, lemon, pine, resin, menthol, Citra, pineapple, grapefruit and honeydew melon. Better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted just as good as the nose. Got Idaho 7, herbal, tea, lemon, pine, resin, menthol, pineapple, Citra, grapefruit and honeydew melon. Pretty smooth for 10 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just a nice hazy TIPA. Probably underrated this, but outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)

Good, strong IPA!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer had a definite New England look!!!! The color was a hazy straw yellow color with a medium sized foamy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma and taste featured lots of tropical fruit but also a resiny, piney presence in the finish and some dry biscuity malt up front, The bitterness level was excellent, more like a West Coast style. Mouthfeel had a nice balance between the biscuity malt and the more oily pine finish. Rich enough for the style, nicely bitter and crisp with very little alcohol presence, this one is quite enjoyable!!!!

Canned on: ??????
A - Hazy, dark medium orange with frothy, sticky white lacing.
S - Sticky tropical fruit aroma along with some pine.
T - Peppery tropical fruit rind with passion fruit, papaya, apricot, pineapple and finishes with a slightly sticky pine bitterness. Finishes more on the sweeter side with a resiny bitterness buried underneath fighting to be more relevant.
M - Big viscous body, some residue left on the lips, and a little bit of warming in the back of the throat.
O - Really enjoying this one, wish I had more cans of this.
