Glass: Rip Current 8-oz. beer glass
Price: $7.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: June 19, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 1, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this at Windmill Farms. The Mason Ale Works website calls for “May the 4th Be With You! This is not a trap! We brewed an amazing imperial pastry stout with chocolate and strawberries that will definitely draw you to the dark side.”
Poured a pitch black color with one finger of fizzy khaki-tan head which dissipated quickly. Did notice some bubbles creeping toward the top of the glass on the sides. Very good lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled a nice mix of chocolate and strawberry. Almost Neapolitan ice cream. Also cough syrup, mixed berry jam, chocolate syrup, dark fruit and strawberry cream. Not as good from the can but some spoiled berry. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, Neapolitan ice cream, dark fruit, cough syrup, mixed berry jam, sticky chocolate syrup and strawberry cream candy. Super smooth for 13.0 pct. ABV. (Taste - 3.75)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Felt liked this was better than it was, but it was at least very good overall. (Overall - 3.75)
