Menace is a dark, smooth, and exceptionally balanced stout. It is jet black in color. It contains six different malts, which lend Menace its complex, but balanced, flavor. Look for three variations of this beer with a chocolate, a coffee, and a regular version.

Poured from a 750ml crowler into glass. Filled date marked on can as '10/4' (2017). Label is embossed with raised detail.
Black, opaque body. Two finger mocha colored head settles to scattered islands and ring. Some spots of lacing.
Dark roasted malts and chocolate, and a little coffee in the aroma.
Taste of dark roasted malts, darker chocolate than in the aroma, a little coffee bitterness, and a little vanilla sweetness.
Medium mouth feel, smooth, not too dry.
A very good representative for the style.

L: rich dark brown to black under a 3" medium tan cap with good retention
S: rich coffee and roast aromas that smell of a variety of different malts
T: Lightly sweetened coffee leads the roast flavors receiving support from chocolate and other dark grains
F: medium full and the carbonation is medium but very soft
O: a flavorful American Stout with a very luscious texture that is a delight to drink

This has apparently been reformulated. I had a sample of the previous Menace and thought it was decent enough but this is legit good.
L-black/brown...no light shines through...nice lacing on glass as you drink
S-Smokey notes up front...sweet chocolate....vanilla..hints of maple...
T-Nice light but evident maple flavor to go along with the vanilla and cocoa...all of this is subtle but evident if that makes sense. You taste it but it is not cloying or too heavy on those flavors. Blends nicely. Really a nice flavor to this.
F-For an American Stout this is about perfect body wise. Not Imperial Stout thick but much heartier than a dry stout.
O-I really like this. It is wrongly classified as an American IPA here. It is an American Stout and this newly formulated version has a higher ABV...can't remember exactly but seems to be in the 7-8ish range. I'd definitely recommend this beer to stout lovers.

On tap at the brewery.
Blackish with slight cocoa head.
Some burnt toast aroma.
Taste was very mellow and dry with some roast flavor. Unremarkable but not offensive.
A bit of a letdown after really enjoying their chocolate milk stout.
