Thanks to the reclusive, suburban Mista for this 750 ML crowler, handed off for no apparent reason after a drunken Festivus. Dated 11/14/17, split with my wife.
The fucking crowler sprays my hand, glasses, cabinet, wall, & sweatshirt. I’m opening these things under a towel from here on out. Comes out black, with quiet, drawling carbonation. Nose is surprisingly understated, with touches of roast, rum, aimless wandering sweetness.
Nevermore is a boozy rum chocolate cake. Really, that’s review enough. Drinks bigger than a mere 10% session stout, probably because of the rumquake going on all up in my mouth. Chocolate comes out mid-palate, along with dark roast, which yields to a long lick of lingering sweetness. Thick. Drinkable. Maybe I’m a glutton for being waterboarded with sugar-laced rum.
A very good beer, but nothing really remarkable about it.

Crowler. Tan head. Black color.
Really awesome rum flavor as it warms. Candied sugar. Oak, raisins, molasses, dark fruits. Coffee and roasted malts. Lots of chocolate/fudge. Ends dry/roasty. Full bodied. Smooth. Great flavors.

Poured from 750ml crowler can into glass. Fill date marked on can as '11-14 (2017)'.
Black colored body, just a hint of reddish edge highlights when presented to light. Creamy dark mocha cap (not much built up head when poured, but cap persists). Spots of lacing.
Very aromatic, with dark roasted malt, chocolate, leather, and rum barrel.
Lots of rum barrel in the taste, with dark roasted malt and chocolate. Has some smoke and leather also. More sweet, minimal bitterness.
Very creamy, coating mouth feel.
Enjoyable barrel aged stout with rum barrel, rather than bourbon. Very good in all aspects.
If this is the last beer brewed at Disgruntled by the original brewer, Brett, then the beer name is foreboding.
