Second Line West Coast IPA
No can date but I'm assuming it's pretty fresh since it's made in town.
Smokestack snifter.
Pure clean gold color with a creamy head of 2 fingers, leaving sparse lacing. Dead on.
Aroma is clean with seltzer, grapefruit rind, pine, red and white grapefruit, and tangerine.
Flavor starts off with a wave of grapefruit peel, then red grapefruit flesh, followed by pine, slight herbal presence, stringy tangerine, passion fruit, pommelo, cracker, wafer, and a finish of pine and white grapefruit.
Feel is clean and carbonated, slightly acidic which is welcome, and a resiny finish.
Overall, west-coasters would be proud. Great style example. Highly recommended for hop heads. Tons of resin-y afterglow.

Just had this West Coast style IPA. I am hugely impressed. When I was at the brewery and met Mark I now know why... he learned the art of brewing in Alaska. Here's the skinny - it's an unfiltered clear and crisp IPA. Not too much crystal malt with a lot of hops. Pours clean with a nice bright head and goes down smooth. Best beer I've had in the South. Looking forward to watching this brewery grow.

Second Line IPA has a thin, soapy, white head, a hazy gold-orange appearance, with some lacing and a few ascending bubbles. Aroma is of sweet white bread crust, sugary candy, and subdued hop oils. Taste is of all that, with strong, yet, in no way, harsh, bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Second Line IPA finishes dry and pleasant. This is a traditional India Pale Ale.

A nice brew from a new brewery. Definitely a more malt forward IPA but an easy intro for those new to the style. Not super hoppy but super drinkable. Definitely recommend.

First had poured from amber plastic Second Line logo growler, acquired by friend at brewery, into tumbler.
This flagship IPA is a bit different (the brewery touts "a touch of Louisiana cane sugar and a big dollop of gypsum and other minerals in the mash"), but excellent for all that.
