473 ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase fro under $4 CDN. Canned February 18, 2021.
Appearance - An aggressive pour yielded a hazy golden beer with multiple fingers of thick white head. Some considerable staying power and a nice swath of lacing at the edges of the glass.
Smell - Lots of mango, hints of tangerine and a bit of subtle grapefruit backing everything up.
Taste - Tangerine again with a bit of mango. Not as assertively bitter as I'd expect. Almost New England Style in that respect. Pretty juicy and fruity all things considered. Mango and grapefruit round things out after the tangerine. Lacks some of the intensity the some of the other local IPA's have.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, pretty expressive carbonation, also quite easy to drink.
Overall - A good and fruitier IPA than others, playing heavily on tangerines and mangoes. A worthwhile tipple, but can see this fading worse than other IPA's if it's not fresh. If fresh highly recommended.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 18 2021 and served barely chilled.
Pours turbid and hazy, with a pale yellow-coloured body crowned with a finger of puffy, foamy white head that dissipates within a few minutes' time. A lovely curtain of sticky lace is left clinging to the glass, alongside a generous collar of froth encircling a thin, filmy cap. Its muddy, NEIPA-like appearance doesn't scream "shine" to me, but whaddya gonna do? Suggestions of earthy, grassy, floral hops are interspersed with fruitier notes of grapefruit, mandarin orange, pineapple, mango and gooseberry.
Pretty tasty - flavours of mango, apricot and pineapple nicely complement the orange and grapefruit elements, all of which are supported by background hints of wheaty, bready pale malts. Hints of gooseberry, leading into a modestly bitter finish that is a little fruity, but also includes suggestions of earthy, floral hop notes that round out the profile nicely. Lingering vibes of grapefruit pith and tropical fruit into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with average carbonation levels that prickle the palate lightly, contributing to its fairly soft, somewhat frothy mouthfeel. Reasonably well-balanced for the style - a little juicy, a little bitter, and quite drinkable for 6%.
Final Grade: 3.87, a B+. Shine is hazy like a New England IPA, and kinda tastes like one - it does have a bit of that tropical juiciness that I've come to associate with the style, while its bitterness is noticeable yet understated. I'm not going to quibble any further over the details, though - the fact of the matter is that this is a quality IPA that I wouldn't mind drinking more of in the future, and (besides their Elora Australis) I'd say this is one of their best pale ales to date. I wouldn't necessarily search high and low for it, but if you're a hophead and you spot it on the shelves, I'd encourage you to give 'er a go.

shine while we still can? Sure. A september 2020 can poured into a tulip with incredible collar with a pour colour that matches the can - lemony pineapple with translucent body - quite nice. Nose however is weak. Hop centered with grapefruit hues undertone. Mild tangerine taste with bubbly aftertaste. Woody finish makes this an autumn beer over summer. This one doesnt shine through.
