473 mL can from the brewery; dated May 6 2026 and served barely chilled.

Pours a hazy golden-yellow colour, its complexion marred with countless flecks of sandy sediment. More than two fingers of puffy, foamy white head erupts from the surface, slowly dissipating over the next five-plus minutes; a thick coat of lace is left in its wake, with a frothy cap and collar guarding the surface. Dank aroma with hints of green onion, pineapple, passion fruit and spicy, herbal hops.

Not bad, but not especially great either. The flavour profile is fruity on the front end, offering up muddled notes of orange, passion fruit, pineapple and banana, backed by a bready, wheaty pale malt presence. Dank, oniony hops come through on the back end, buoyed by hints of pine resin, melon and earthy, herbal notes. Medium-full in body, with middling carbonation that gently prickles the tongue; the mouthfeel is soft and a little pillowy, which is what I want from this style. Limited drinkability; one is more than enough.

Final Grade: 3.62, a B grade. Queen of the Quarry Hazy IPA didn't do much for me. I don't think age is the issue here: it's barely a month old, and it definitely isn't showing signs of oxidation. I just didn't much care for the hop profile - this might be the most 'oniony' IPA I've had in the last decade, no joke. I don't mind that flavour in small doses, but none of the other notes popped off strongly enough to distract me from the onion - and so, this just became more of a chore as the session went on. I don't think I'd buy this again, but if you're interesting in trying it, I'd do so ASAP - after all, it isn't getting any fresher.
