We let this robust Imperial Stout develop it’s deep complexity while resting in rum barrels, and added flaked coconut and vanilla beans for an extra sensory boost. Flavors of dark chocolate, tropical coconut, and caramelized sugar combine over the medium-full body, while the rum-soaked oak barrels add a warming spicy depth to the finish. Savor the voyage.

Had on tap. Pitch black with a sudsy tan head. Smell has the rum but not as strong as one would expect, tons of coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and sweet molasses. Taste takes this sweeter complexion of a coconut bar and dips it into the rum in a satisfying way. Very smooth, sweeter, and flavorful, a cohesive dream. As it warms as layers of coffee, slight marshmallow and subtle wood. Feel is smooth yet clearly has booze, and is very rich. Best rum BA stout in a while

Apparently there are two versions? One with cinnamon and one with out. Nine Nights Imperial Stout with coconut and vanilla beans aged in rum barrels. Bottle date 12/14/2017 batch 1. Pours a jet black with a decent light tan head on a heavy pour. Decent carbonation. Nose is amazing light roast coffee, breakfast blend ;) flaked coconut and cocoa powder. Taste follows the nose. Notes of light coffee, mellow roasted malt, flaked coconut and smooth vanilla melt together to create a amazing flavor. Topped off with a light of caramel note as the beer mellows. Smooth sweetness from the rum pulls all the flavors together and that tiny bit of barrel keeps this one from being cloyingly sweet. As far as coconut beers go this one is awesome. It is definitely there. Medium to full bodied with a silky dessert like finish. As you can tell I really enjoyed this one! Definitely on my short list of favorite stouts.
