An unfiltered West Coast IPA with Mosaic and Waimea hops—in collaboration with Pizza Port Brewing. Wafts of navel orange, peach and pineapple on the nose intermingle with grapefruit, candied lemon, and essences of floral and pine on the tongue. The addition of flaked rice to this brew dries out the body and heightens the crisp finish.

Clear golden pour and body appearance; dense, fine-bubble carbonation, lively; thick head, white and frothy, long-lasting. Mild, fruity nose infused with a sense of biscuit; kiwi and delicate lime. Clean, mild malt and juicy hop flavors; pine and tangerine notes; powdered sugar; zesty spiciness. Crisp and lightly dry mouthfeel; fine carbonation prickliness on the palate.
This fine drinking India pale ale offers very appealing qualities. It comes across light and refreshing, the mild malt base nicely carrying the varied hop flavors and aroma to the palate and nose. Well-rounded with an appealing uniqueness to the west coast style IPA.
ABV: 6.8%; pouring temperature: 44.5 °F; canning info: 03/27/25

Had Sakura poured from pint can, no date, gift from little bro., into nonic pint.
Pours cloudy light lemon-gold with foamy 2-finger near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving chunky lace down the glass. Aromas of sweet citrus off pour, then of tart stone fruit, and as warms dank resinous aromas and finally a little berry aroma. On tasting, begins sweet citrus, berries and immediate, mildly piney hop resin, which carries over a very mild malt backbone into a very drying, somewhat tart but mild citrus, cleanly bitter finish.
This is a very different IPA, giving juicy NE vibes up front, then resinous drying West Coast feels in the finish, and not much in the middle.

Pours a clear golden brew with long-lasting white foam in the tall IPA glass. Aromatic with lime and pear and white grape. Very light bodied and sharp and spritzy. The flavors are also light and elegant, tending to the grape and melon. Here's another IPA with such interesting fruity flavors but more restrained in the use of hops. This is just really good, and another feather in the cap for collaborator Pizza Port, who must make more new West Coast IPAs than anybody. From the 16 oz can purchased at Barons Market on West Point Loma. Dated 10/16/23.
