The original brew in our Bonsai West Coast series is back! Black Pine celebrates the pure flavors of Pacific Northwest hops and the authentic bitterness of a West Coast IPA. Idaho 7, Simcoe, and Citra Cryo hops shine through this crystal clear and golden-colored DIPA, producing fresh scents of peach, resin, and orange zest. Tastes of cantaloupe, lemon, and dank are balanced by a lingering bitterness that you'll want to savor time and time again.

Had Black Pine poured from pint can, label stamped Canned On: "12/19/24," into nonic pint.
Pours cloudy but bright, light gold, with 1-finger near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving thick rings of lace down the glass. Aromas of pine resin and earthy herbals off pour, then aromas of sweet tangerine and mild lime, with growing orange and tarter lime aromas, and a little melon and tarter tropical fruit aromas, as warms. On tasting, begins bright orange, with a little citrus (lime) rind, and some sweet and a bit tangy stone fruit, which then reveals a mild barley malt backbone, before pine arrives and predominates, carrying into a moderately bitter, multiply fruity finish.
A cloudy pour and a muted, aromatic mishmash delivers an interestingly citrusy, multiply tropical and significantly piney but not notably bitter DIPA.
