Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into a snifter. Batch #1 and bottled on 8/2025. Thank you for label info!! :)
Picked up at the brewery about a month and a half ago.
The beer pours a jet black coffee color and even seems thick leaving the bottle. A little bit of frothy tan bubbling resorts quickly to a thin, yet dense edging. This sticks around as wire thin through sampling. Not lattice, but definitely some red wine legs on this beverage when I sip or swirl. Looks pretty thick in the glass.
Aroma is pretty much as expected with some dark chocolate fudge, hints of coconut and a healthy dose of bourbon. No hop character on the nose and the booze isnt fusol or hot at this point.
First sip reveals a smoother texture than anticipated, still pretty thick body , but not as sticky. Carbonation is fine and mild, not much going there.
Flavor is what the nose advertises. I get dark fudge, mixed with bourbon and some dark fruit like prunes. Finish definitely has some warming heat on the swallow and lightly sweet coconut lingers after each swallow. Again, no hops appear to have been harmed in the making of this beer.
Ive enjoyed what I have had from Pure Project and would gladly drink this beer again.
