(16 oz can, canned on 10/14/20; gift from friend who purchased a 4-pk... poured into a fat tulip)
L: yellow-gold liquid, great clarity; yellow-tinged white foam builds on pour, collapses to spitty collar in short time.. .thought this might be a hazy NEIPA - apparently it isn't; remains clear even after can swirl, though that kicked up a bunch of speckled sediment... practically no head retention or lace
S: lemon-lime, grapefruit rind, pineapple rind, shake; hint of honey-ish malt; tropical (mango) hard candy; faint hints of medicinal ethanol, floral perfume... overall potent, semi-fresh intensity... later takes on a spicy musk
T: citrus (cleaning) oil; immediate apparent lack of definition in malt foundation/support, marginally diluted flavor expressions... the rich resinous basis for the flavors is nice enough, hints of spice and cannabis, just perhaps lacking proper water chemistry or balance from grains... later, more lime and spicy, green herbal notes emerge, as well as a pithy/herbal bitterness; further out, gets peppery
F: thin resinous residual film... its body is flaccid, lacks definition whether it be roundness or taut stridency; lacks adequate carbonation too?... mellow (phenolic) spicy heat lingers; its bitterness slowly stuns the tongue... dry enough at its base to lend to continuous sipping, but lacks excitement
O: I'm confused. Expected this to be hazy - it was anything but. The flavor description on their website seems rather off. Is this beer mislabeled?!... At any rate, it's bursting with flavor, however, there's a mildly off-putting off-balance to it. I don't quite want to finish the glass; not interested in having another (1706)
