DATE: November 2, 2024... OCCASION: finishing Only Murders in the Building after Penn State was again finished off by Ohio State--need some late Oktoberfest intervention... GLASSWARE: Otto's dimpled mug... pours a fizzing, lively yellow-orange body that builds its snow-white head with an intense rush of tiny bubbles... its head staunchly holds as a creamy froth--the perfect picture of a festbier... its aroma is lightly malty and buttery, suggesting wet hay and rye bread... too light to be taken as substantial... its mouthfeel is smooth, medium-bodied, and easy-drinking--an easy finish that doesn't ask too much of its drinker.... the baked bread, light spices, and sweet overtones make this an appealing experience, one that invites the next sip... not overpowering or arresting, it still fortifies with a freshness that uplifts, especially with this fall season...

Canned on 7/26/23; consumed on 11/15/23
Pours a slightly foggy, honey-gold body capped with a finger and a half of fluffy, off-white foam; solid head retention leaves a sliver of cap, ample, frothy collar, and generous spattering of webby/spotting lacing spread around the walls of the glass.
Aromas of honeyed wheat and fresh biscuit open, with white toast and soft bread crust developing through grainy wafts into a mineralic spritz and floral edge throughout.
Taste offers a touch of lager yeast and straw upfront, leaving fresh white bread residuals and a deft coating of wildflower honey over the mid-palate and lingering across the back end of the profile to a slightly floral finish.
Mouthfeel brings a body on the lighter end of medium and a rounded spritz of moderate carbonation, producing taut textures against slight roast as a snappy trend proceeds to a dry and crisp finish.
A beautiful flux of sweet honey and delicate, toasted malt interplay as a classic festbier display is projected over the palate; a welcome, if basic, take based largely in refinement without overextension.

Cloudy orange/amber appearance
Body is medium with about average carbonation but overall a really nice feel.
Aroma isn't overpowering but malt, floral honey, cereal, grain and what seems like an apple, pear bread aroma.
Taste is similar to aroma but much stronger.very mild sweetness followed by cereal, grain, malty bread and honey.
Overall this was really enjoyable and was very glad I tried it.
