16 oz can from Tavour. Pours out black with a thin creamy beige head which disappears to nothing, still and slick.Aroma is a melange of scents, roast, chocolate, light vanilla. Tastetaste follows, sweet, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, a touch of bitterness and a bit of alcohol warmth. Pretty solid throughout.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing, then disappears to almost nothing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, hints of coffee and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt and vanilla, developing some nice milk chocolate and light coffee bitterness into the finish, which does somewhat resemble crème brulee, but with a chocolate component. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation despite the tame pour. Quite vanilla forward at the start, as appropriate for the name, but fortunately develops a quite flavorful chocolate note that is enhanced by a coffee ground bitterness. Not as sweet as some other crème brulee style stouts, which makes it more drinkable. It has some of that dessert's character, but I think it's better as a well made vanilla stout. Alcohol well covered. An interesting introduction to the brewery.

Picked up a 4 pack of these bad boys. 12 oz can poured into Carpe BrewEm snifter.
Deep, luscious, thick obsidian liquid pouring from this aluminum can. You'd think it was old timey motor oil. Head is angry red and forms 1/2 finger before dissipating to a thin formidable ring.
Aroma of powdery vanilla beans. Slight cinnamon, chocolate, and coffee. Malty roasted notes lie lazily in the background.
Flavor is incredible. The Creme Brulee is pulled off well with fresh vanilla bean notes. Has a slight hard iced tea flavor to it as well. Bitter planty hops and roasted malts, also bringing coffee, hot cocoa, red hots, and alcohol heat up front. Leaves your head fuzzy.
Feel is thick and roasty with hot, burning alcohol. It starts off creamy but gets cut instantly by the warming alcohol. Slight creaminess on the back end. It's a constant battle, this creaminess and alcohol heat.
Overall, a very tasty RIS and highly recommended. White Elm delivers again.

White Elm Creme Brulee, 12% ABV. Pours black with no head. Nose is lactose and vanilla, taste is lactose and vanilla/marshmallow, slightly sweet, slightly bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent to nearly outstanding. Decent, but I prefer their Fluffaluffagus.
