White Elm BBA Champurrado Imperial Stout, 13% ABV. Pours black with a one-finger light brown head that left sparse lacing. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and peppers. Taste follows, plus bourbon, moderately sweet, slightly bitter, peppers at the close. Decent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. No heat to the peppers, just the oily/vegetal taste.

Update: after five months aging, trying another. Not detecting the same vegetal pepper taste, but really strong cocoa now.

I found this BBA to be very nicely balanced, nuanced, and very enjoyable. You get the aging notes but the bourbon doesn't overwhelm. The spices added each come through nicely but also come together so well too. Feels lighter than you might expect as well.
