This DIPA refuses to be pigeonholed into newfangled IPA subcategories. A touch of haze from raw flaked oats, meet a touch of piney resin from traditional west coast Simcoe hops. Toss in fruity Azacca hops and grapefruit forward Amarillo and you can watch the universe expand.

White Elm Space Grass DIPA, 8% ABV. Pours hazy yellow, with a three-finger white foamy head that left some foamy lacing. Nose is peach and vague citrus, taste is malty, grapefruit, orange juice, some pine, with a moderate bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Just released here last week.
16 oz can poured into K Zildjian tumbler
Honey gold with chill haze, creamy 1 finger head leaving nice alcohol legs and lacing all the way down.
Aroma of ripe peaches and tangerine, some grapefruit, mandarin, wet grass
Flavor is decidedly malty, then hoppy. Opens with base malt and caramel malt, follows with pine and grass, slight grapefruit rind, some tangerine rind. Touch of onion. Very rind-y, very grassy.
Feel is a little empty with a bit of moderate to high carbonation. Drying finish.
Overall, White Elm usually does outstanding stuff, this one came a little below the bar for me. It drinks easily, easier than a Double IPA should, and can be finished quickly.
