White Elm Forty Two Mild Dark Mild Ale, 5% ABV. Pours dark brown with a 4+ finger beige head that left lots of nice lacing. Nose is malty with slight toffee. Taste follows plus bread, with faint sweetness, slight bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. I could drink a lot of these, would be great for a hot summer picnic or a cooler fall day.

Seems like a dark, not a place as stated but...what the hey...Planning to rate this one to style in any event.
Pours a fairly deep amber with a nice dense head and outstanding retention and lace.
The aromas are spot on. Faint fruity notes paired with earthy hops.
The flavors are similarly straight and classic. Subdued fruity sweet malts on the tip of the tongue give way quickly to earthy and grassy hops. Restrained and balanced in a good way.
Very drinkable on the weight. Medium bodied, but almost trends lighter with excellent carbonation.
The English Mild is pretty hard to find these days, especially in the US. This is a very good one.
