White Elm Sometimes You Don't Imperial Milk Stout, 9% ABV. Pours black with a ring of brown bubbles on a careful taproom pour. Nose is chocolate milk and coconut. Taste follows, plus cocoa, moderately sweet, slightly bitter. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

16oz can into a goblet. NO freshness dating. Tavour shipment.

Looks very good in the glass. Jet black body with a few light floaties that eventually sink to the bottom. Tan head shrinks to a thick ring, only light lacing initially.

Aromas of chocolate and coconut.

On tasting, sweet milk chocolate, slightly bitter dark chocolate, and a nice coconut flavor. Faint booze as well. But somehow, the overall taste doesn't sit well on this palate.

Mouth closer to full than medium, finish chocolate.

Overall, one of those beers where the parts are greater than the sum. All the components are there, and seem well done, just all together they dont work for this palate.

16 oz can

Pours mostly opaque black, dark brown light penetration around the edges. Tan head dissipates to a bit of lacing.

Aroma of cocoa, marshmallow, coconut, and caramel.

Flavor is of rich coconut, cocoa, caramel, marshmallow, cream, and nougat.

Medium to full body, stinging carbonation on the tongue.

Very sweet stout, almost overwhelming. This is definitely a dessert beer and one that requires patience to consume. It's rich, heavy, and slow drinking. Everything about it is pretty good in isolation, but it needed a little something to balance out the richness that is lacking. Glad to have tried this and it's probably worth a try for anyone looking for dessert in a can, but I don't know if I could drink it again.

16oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, cap of foamy beige head subsides to thin ring. Candy bar aromas, coconut first, followed immediately by chocolate. Taste also begins with the coconut, then layering sweet chocolate before finishing with a bit of roast malts and a light bitter bite.
